On Mountaintop

April 14th, 2007 by sheena-010176

There is something special in this place

The air is pure, the breeze is crisp

The scene is breathtaking,

Isn’t it enlightening?

In the evening, the scene is serene

The sky seems to be within reach

You can almost pluck the stars

And blow the moon away

Atop this mountain, you know

You are with HIS PRESENCE

You feel HIM very near, very close

You feel a deep sense of respect

    with HIS GREAT PRESENCE…

P R A Y E R

March 14th, 2007 by sheena-010176

At first I just pray for the sake of praying and sometimes do not even pray and even do not believe in Him. It even grew stronger when my mother got sick and even had a coma and she died when i was still second year high school. I started  to lose hope and started to blame Him. Even to the degree that I don’t pray and go to masses. I don’t even mind praying for others.      Almost forgotten that it is not just I who has problems but all of us. That it is not just I who should be listened.

But when I stepped into the real world which is in the age of 18, I started to realize and understand that life isn’t that perfect. That He is there just to guide us. All bad things that are happening are just trials in life. We just have to pray and believe.

Sometimes, I just pray for my own sake, too selfish enough to be aware of other people. Too blinded by the things that are happening. Then I realized, I was not praying in the correct manner. I was praying for myself and not for His’ will. And so I changed slowly, becoming more mature enough to understand what is happening. It feels nice if you truly make your prayer meaningful and if you put concern to it.

Sometimes, I just go to the backfield (school) all by myself and just sit under the acacia tree and feel the blowing wind on my face; adoring the beauty of nature. That is how I pray sometimes. Sometimes even if it hurts, I pray that God’s will be done. There are times that my prayer weren’t answered. Maybe He has another plan for me. Still, I do not lose hope. I ask that whatever His plans are, may His will be done.

For me praying is a communication to God. It’s as if He is your friend, a person to lean on; and for me praying works. There are so many people in need everyday. Life today isn’t easy and even if we can physically do little for others… but we can always pray. That doesn’t cost a thing… and it does work. Praying for others also shows you care and caring for others is a big part of who we are and who we become. Every little thing we do counts…

There are two poems that I like and they serve as my inspiration:

                            The Praying Heart

The heart that prays soars high on strong, glad wings,

And finds strange rest beyond the strife of things,

The heart that prays in trusting self-surrender

Finds Christ’s own peace and life’s eternal splendor.

Through prayer GOD breathes His secret to the heart,

Speak to Him often in the busy mart,

Or call Him in the deep of sorrow’s night;

His love floods in with the healing, guiding light.

Prayers Can’t Be Answered Unless They Are Prayed

Life without purpose is barren indeed-

There can’t be a harvest unless you plant seed,

There can’t be attainment unless there’s goal,

And man’s but a robot unless there’s a soul…

If we send no ships out, no ships will come in,

And unless there’s a contest, nobody can win,

For games can’t be won unless they are played,

And PRAYERS can’t be ANSWERED unless they are PRAYED…

So whatever is wrong with your life today,

You’ll find a solution if you kneel down and pray

Not just for pleasure, enjoyment and health,

Not just for honors and prestige and wealth,

But PRAY FOR A PURPOSE to MAKE LIFE WORTH LIVING,

And PRAY FOR THE JOY of UNSELFISH GIVING,

For GREAT IS YOUR GLADNESS and RICH YOUR REWARD

When you make your LIFE’S PURPOSE the choice to the Lord…

I was touched by these poems and I am very much motivated by these two poems. I am slowly understanding the true meaning of prayer. And if people only knew that prayer heals all wounds and if they only knew that it is where we find rest. They would be able to feel its importance to their lives…

Note: ala lang, i just want to share them to you… God Bless! (",)

A Daily Affirmation, A Lifetime Inspiration…

March 8th, 2007 by sheena-010176

A hill is not too hard to climb,

Taken one step at a time.

One step is not too much to take,

One try is not too much to make.

One step, one try, one song, one smile

Will shortly stretch into a mile.

And everything worthwhile was done

By small steps taken one by one.

To reach the goal you started for,

     Take one step more…

          Take one step more…

My Personal Experience of Love…

March 8th, 2007 by sheena-010176

When i think of my past love, i view it as a failure. But I have learned that when you find a new love, you view the past as a teacher. What is important is you know when to hold on or to let go. You know you really love someone when you want him to be happy, even if his happiness means that you’re not part of it. Everything happens for the best. You’ll never love a person you love unless you risk for love. Love strives in hurting. If you don’t get hurt, you don’t learn how to love. But i know that love doesn’t hurt all  the time. Though the hurting is still there to test me, to help me grow.

To reach for another is to risk involvement, to expose your feelings is to expose your true self, to love is to risk not to be loved in return. I have learned that I should be constant but not too persistent, share and never be unfair, understand and try not to demand.

Love is like a knife. It van stab the heart or it can carve wonderful images into the sou; that always last for a lifetime. Love is supposed to be the most wonderful feeling. It should inspire you and give you joy and strength. But sometimes the things that give you joy can also hurt you in the end. Loving people means giving them the freedom who they choose to be and where they choose to be. For all the heartaches and the tears, for all the gloomy days, I should be thankful for I know that they were the things that helped me grow.

Loving someone means giving him the freedom to find his way, whether it leads towards you or away from you. Love is a painful risk to take but the risk must be taken no matter how scary or painful, for only then you’ll experience the fullness of humanity and that is love. Only love can hurt your heart, fill you with desire and tear you apart. Only love can make you cry and only God knows why.

The people you meet who affect you life, and the success and downfalls you experience, create who you are, and even the bad experiences can be learned from; in fact, they are probably the poignant and important ones.

I have learned that if someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them; for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart.

LOVE is an experience; something that is important in life. That if love is not there, it’s as if your life is not complete. That’s why I have learned that showing ones feeling is not bad for you are willing to accept its consequences. Willing to accept that loving is not asking in return but by giving what you can to the person that you love…

Writing and reading love poetry is a way to get in touch with your inner feelings about the emotions of loving and being loved. Love poetry spans emotions from hate and despair to admiration and adulation. The poems offered here reflect that diversity. Love poetry is not only for "lovers" but speaks to anyone who has experienced the desire to be loved… that is it speaks to everyone.

"When the emotion is love… everyone is a poet."

The signs of Love

Should be as clear

  As when you look

   Into a mirror.

And, as an image,

     Come to you

      Because you’re

       Merely being you.
